Grum: Suburban Sunderer (Savage Legends Book 2)

Savage Legends: Book 2

Two weeks after being transplanted to our world, Grum, a level-99 barbarian finds himself banished to his boss Eli’s suburban rental property with a laundry list of chores—and nothing to kill, except time.

But when Grum meets a crafty little girl named Romy, he learns of a hidden kingdom nestled in the woods at the end of Juniper Street. A kingdom that Romy insists is ripe for the taking—so long as Grum does exactly what she says.

My Opinion: 84 pages, $0.99, Available on Kindle Unlimited

Grum is without a doubt my favorite RPG Barbarian. In book 1, he was transported from his RPG world to our mundane one and had to master the art of being a barista. In book 2, he has to deal with becoming a renter. No Grum can’t just build himself a home from the bones of his enemies, instead his boss Eli lets him rent his old condo. With that comes a quest notification for Grum to find his place in our world.

This is an adorable story about being an outsider and finding a place in a strange world, ours. There are minor adult themes like a single scene with recreational drug use and an implied sex scene (super fade to black). Even with those parts, the story is cute, innocent, funny, and has a little action.

Score: 7.5 out of 10
